PFI Germany has announced the appointment of Professor Dr. Günter Schell as new Institute Director, effective from 5 January 2026. He has a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering and has many years of experience in research, development, and certification. As the professor of Materials Science, Professor Dr. Günter Schell has been working with KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), where, after positions as group leader of process engineering and head of the laboratory for applied materials (ceramic materials and technologies), he was appointed adjunct professor in 2022.
Michael Tackenberg, PFI’s Chairman, being recently re-elected for another three years, welcomes the decision, which will further advance the change already successfully initiated at PFI this year, “With Prof. Dr. Günter Schell, we are gaining a personality who combines scientific excellence with modern leadership. We are convinced that he will strengthen PFI’s public image and lead it into a successful future.”
